Ireland based UCD Forges Partnerships with BITS Law School and FLAME University for Innovative Collaborations
India,02nd May 2024: Ireland based University College Dublin (UCD) has signed strategic partnerships with two esteemed Indian institutions – BITS Law School and FLAME University. These alliances are poised to cultivate collaborative ventures and academic initiatives, charting a transformative path in the fields of Law, Technology, and Environmental Humanities. The signing of these partnerships coincides with the commemoration of a decade-long journey of the UCD South Asia Global Centre in nurturing connections in India, underscoring Ireland’s steadfast commitment to strengthening its ties with India.
Under this partnership, which was supported by Education in Ireland the national brand representing Irish Higher Education Institutions worldwide, UCD and BITS Law School, which is affiliated with BITS Pilani, will jointly host a summer program in Law & Technology at UCD’s Dublin campus. The programme catering specifically to Indian students offering them with an immersive experience in learning about crucial topics such as platform governance and artificial intelligence. This initiative not only underscores a commitment to nurturing global talent but also opens avenues for research and teaching collaborations that delve into the intersection of law and technology.

Moreover, the Colleges of Social Sciences & Law and Arts & Humanities at UCD will join forces with researchers from FLAME University to embark on a collaborative journey in Environmental Humanities. This interdisciplinary step seeks to explore and understand the representation of climate change and its phenomena in contemporary art and culture. By bringing together experts from diverse fields, this partnership aims to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time while fostering cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
