New Delhi, Aug 21: India and Brazil have moved to deepen their partnership in the digital and telecommunications sectors with the signing of a new agreement focused on information and communication technologies.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the 12th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting in Pune. The agreement seeks to expand cooperation between the two countries in areas such as wider digital connectivity, cybersecurity, Digital Public Infrastructure and emerging technologies.

The partnership will also encourage the exchange of technical knowledge, successful practices and expertise between India and Brazil. Capacity-building initiatives are expected to help strengthen skills and support the development of modern digital systems.

For both countries, improving access to reliable and secure digital services has become increasingly important as technology plays a larger role in public services, businesses and everyday life.

The agreement could provide a platform for India and Brazil to work together on new technological solutions while learning from each other’s experience in digital transformation.

The cooperation also highlights the growing importance of technology within the broader BRICS partnership. With cybersecurity, connectivity and emerging technologies becoming key priorities, closer collaboration can help both countries build stronger and more inclusive digital ecosystems.

The latest MoU marks another step in India-Brazil relations and is expected to create opportunities for greater cooperation in technology, innovation and digital development.
