July 13: Sony SAB’s Hastinapur Ke Veer is bringing alive one of India’s greatest epics through compelling storytelling and emotionally resonant moments. At its heart lies a timeless message, that true strength comes not merely from power but from values, integrity and the courage to stand by what is right.

From choosing dharma over personal gain to raising children with resilience and compassion and understanding the consequences of greed, jealousy and manipulation, Hastinapur Ke Veer reminds viewers that the choices we make define our legacy. As the show brings alive the untold childhood journeys of the Pandavas and Kauravas, it offers timeless lessons that continue to resonate across generations. Here are the values and life lessons that the cast believes every viewer should take home from the show.
Manish Wadhwa, who plays Bhishm Pitamah, shares,
“Bhishm Pitamah represents unwavering commitment, discipline and the responsibility that comes with every decision. If there is one lesson audiences can take away from Hastinapur Ke Veer, it is that greatness lies in staying true to your principles, even when the path is difficult. In today’s fast-paced world, where shortcuts often seem tempting, values like integrity, patience and selflessness become even more important. Real heroes are remembered not because they were the strongest, but because they inspired others through their character.”
Toral Rasputra, who plays Kunti, says,
“For me, Kunti’s journey is a reminder that strength is often quiet and rooted in resilience. Despite every hardship she faced, she chose to raise her children with honesty, compassion and a deep sense of righteousness. As a mother, her greatest achievement wasn’t raising mighty warriors alone, it was raising good human beings. I believe that lesson is incredibly relevant today because every parent hopes to build strong values in their children and Kunti beautifully reminds us that character is the greatest inheritance we can pass on.”
Vivana Singh, who plays Gandhari, adds,
“Gandhari’s greatest strength lies in her unwavering sense of justice. She is a mother before everything else, yet she never allows her love for Duryodhan to overshadow her sense of right and wrong. If her son commits a mistake, she believes he should face its consequences. That, to me, is one of the most powerful lessons from the Mahabharat, that true love is not about blindly defending those close to us, but about guiding them towards what is right. In today’s world, where it’s often easier to overlook the mistakes of those we care about, Gandhari reminds us that honesty and accountability are the greatest forms of love”
Chandan Anand, who plays Shakuni, shares,
“Shakuni is one of the most fascinating characters because he reminds us how anger, revenge and manipulation can destroy relationships and entire kingdoms. While audiences enjoy watching his clever strategies unfold, they also witness the consequences of allowing negativity to drive every decision. I think that’s what makes the Mahabharat timeless, it doesn’t just celebrate heroes, it also teaches us through the mistakes of its antagonists. Sometimes, the greatest lessons come from understanding what not to do.”
