Purabi Dairy celebrates World Milk Day with drawing competition and nutrition camp in GuwahatiGuwahati, June 3rd, 2024: Celebrating World Milk Day, Assam’s largest dairy cooperative, Purabi Dairy, organized a drawing competition and an insightful nutrition camp for school children in GuwahatiPurabi World Milk Day 2024 Art and Drawing Contest, held on June 1, attracted over 100 children from various schools across the city, who gathered to showcase their creativity and learn about the importance of milk in their regular diet.

The drawing competition provided an opportunity to the young children to express their imagination and talent through art. Their colorful and innovative artworks reflected themes related to dairying in Assam and Milk – key to physical and mental health.

United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) celebrates World Milk Day on June 1 every year to recognize the importance of milk as a global food, and to celebrate the dairy sector. This year, the general theme focused on celebrating the vital role dairy plays in delivering quality nutrition to nourish the world.

Purabi Dairy’s initiative aimed to create awareness about the nutritional benefits of milk and encourage healthy eating habits among young children. The cooperative’s effort was appreciated by both parents and teachers, who recognized the importance of such educational events in promoting the well-being of children.

This event is a testament to our commitment to the community and to promoting the health benefits of milk. The enthusiasm of the young participants towards Purabi products is very encouraging.” said SM Hussain, Marketing Head, WAMUL.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the drawing competition, along with participation certificates for all the children. The smiles on the faces of the young artists and their newfound knowledge about nutrition marked a successful celebration of World Milk Day 2024 in Guwahati. The prize winners in Group A (Class 4- Class7) are Bastab Das (1st position), Nirjumon Borah (2nd Position) and Jyotishmoy Rabha (3rd Position). The prize winners in Group B (Class 8- Class12) are Udipta Pathak (1st position), Rituparno Roy (2nd Position) and Anie Kashyap (3rd Position). The event was judged by reputed artist Anup Kr Sarma, President at Rupvarnam Fine Arts Society and Ms Sagarika Sarma, reputed international artist from Assam.
