Tramontina Reimagines Indian Kitchen Traditions with Heritage Iron Range

Mumbai, Aug 27: Tramontina, the globally renowned housewares brand with over 115 years of craftsmanship and engineering excellence, has introduced Heritage Iron, a next-generation cookware range created specifically for Indian kitchens.

Product Launch | Tramontina's Heritage Iron Cookware Range

Some cookware is simply part of the history of a kitchen. Iron tawas and kadhais have been used across Indian homes for generations, valued for their durability, heat performance and health benefits. But as kitchens evolved, so did the expectations from everyday cookware that were lighter, easier to maintain and designed for contemporary homes.

Tramontina’s Heritage Iron range is an attempt to bring these two worlds together.

The Heritage Iron range is made from an alloy comprising 99% iron and up to 1% carbon, with no chemical coating. As the cookware is seasoned with cooking oils over time, its surface develops natural non-stick properties, allowing it to become increasingly familiar to the cook using it. It also combines the heat retention associated with traditional iron cookware with a more responsive cooking experience.

But recreating traditional cookware was never the objective. The range has been designed around the nuances of Indian cooking itself. From dosas that require a tawa capable of holding and distributing heat evenly, to the high-heat cooking associated with woks and the versatility of kadhais, different forms and thicknesses have been considered for the way each is actually used in an Indian kitchen.

This approach also reflects a broader shift in how modern consumers think about their homes. Hence, this range brings together traditional cooking forms with a contemporary aesthetic, including brushed 304 stainless steel handles, toughened glass lids and modern silhouettes.

Durability remains central to the collection. Iron has traditionally been associated with cookware that is passed down rather than replaced, and Heritage Iron carries that philosophy forward with Tramontina‘s engineering expertise and Lifetime Warranty. The intention is to create cookware that becomes part of everyday cooking while standing the test of time.

Commenting on the launch, Aruni Mishra, CEO, Tramontina India, said

, “Indian consumers have always valued iron cookware for its performance and longevity. But as our kitchens and lifestyles have evolved, there is a need to bring the qualities of traditional iron into a format that feels relevant today. With Heritage Iron, we wanted to retain what makes iron special while rethinking it around the needs of the modern Indian kitchen. It is about bringing together the best of what we have known for generations with what today’s consumer expects from their cookware.”

Heritage Iron represents Tramontina‘s belief that innovation does not always mean moving away from tradition. Sometimes, it means understanding what made a tradition endure and finding a way to make it relevant for the next generation.

The collection includes Fry Pans and Kadais, along with cookware designed for specific Indian cuisines, such as Dosa Tawa, Patri Tawa, and Appachetty, as well as versatile international formats such as woks. Priced from Rs 2,795 onwards, the range is available through Tramontina’s website, leading e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms, as well as select retail chains and stores across India.
