Shopsy Witnesses Heightened Demand from Customers in Tier2+ Regions During its Big Diwali Sale

Bengaluru –16th November 2023: shopsy by Flipkart, one of India’s fastest-growing hyper-value e-commerce platforms, recently concluded the first edition of its festive shopping event – Big Diwali Sale from 27th October to 29th October, and the second edition of the event is now ongoing till November 11, 2023.

With the price range starting at Rs. 5, the sale spanned across an expansive catalog from clothing to home decor. During the sale, Shopsy observed a spike in demand from Bharat, with sellers from across the country coming together to serve millions of customers. As customers in Tier 2+ cities shopped for diyas, candles, lights, shoes, sarees, t-shirts, hair accessories and kurtis in preparation for upcoming festivities, the event propelled growth for lakhs of regional sellers.

An increase in customers on Shopsy was observed during this period, of which approximately 40% were new to the platform. States that contributed to the highest orders were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu with over 70% of the customers from Tier 2 & 3+ cities across the country. Home Decor, Fashion and Hair Accessories were among several other categories that topped the demand chart.
