Hyatt Regency Boston / Cambridge Welcomes Four New Leaders to Executive Team

Cambridge, MA. (September 10, 2026) – Hyatt Regency Boston / Cambridge announces the addition of four hospitality leaders to its executive team: Erin Gilroy, Director of Sales & Marketing; Katelyn Kucera, Director of Human Resources; John Murphy, Director of Finance; and Sameh Zakhary Jr., Executive Chef. Bringing decades of combined experience across their respective disciplines, the leaders will help drive the property’s continued growth while strengthening its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and team member development.

Erin Gilroy, Director of Sales & Marketing, brings more than 20 years of hospitality commercial strategy and leadership experience, with deep expertise in the Boston market. Most recently, she led revenue optimization and business development for Grand Hyatt Nashville, and prior to that, served as Complex Director of Sales & Marketing for Boston Marriott Copley Place and Sheraton Boston Hotel. Through her consulting practice, Gilroy has advised hospitality organizations on strategy, revenue performance, and team effectiveness. An active member of Boston’s hospitality community, she serves as Vice President of SKAL International Boston, and is on The Fenway Bowl Executive Committee. In her new role with Hyatt Regency Boston / Cambridge, Gilroy will focus on strengthening strategic partnerships, growing key market segments, and building on the hotel’s position within the Boston and Cambridge hospitality landscape.

Katelyn Kucera, Director of Human Resources, brings a unique perspective shaped by her experience working as a front desk manager, overseeing bar and restaurant operations, and within the human resources department. A SHRM-certified professional, Kucera has twice been recognized as a Hyatt Leader of the Quarter and was nominated for the Massachusetts Lodging Association’s Stars of the Industry awards in the Outstanding Manager of the Year category.  Her people-first leadership approach will guide efforts to expand training and development opportunities for team members, including the next evolution of the hotel’s leadership development program. Kucera is particularly focused on creating opportunities for associates to grow, build confidence, and develop the skills needed for their next career step.

John Murphy, Director of Finance, brings more than 40 years of hotel finance experience, including more than three decades with Hilton and over 17 years as Director of Finance at Hilton Boston Logan Airport. He started in the hotel industry working as a night auditor as a senior in college and has worked his way up to senior financial leadership, having earned multiple internal audit and financial leadership awards along the way. Most recently, he was Controller at Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster on Cape Cod, and has also served as a task force Director of Finance and Boston-area finance cluster lead. In addition to developing efficient systems and processes around the hotel’s new financial platform, one of Murphy’s primary focuses is mentoring his team to help position them for long-term career growth.

Sameh Zakhary Jr., Executive Chef, is a Quincy native with deep roots in the Greater Boston hospitality community, with more than 20 years of culinary leadership experience to his new role. His background includes high-volume banquet operations, full-service hotels, specialty restaurants, and scratch kitchens. Zakhary has led culinary teams responsible for large-scale events, corporate meetings, weddings, catering, restaurants, and lounges. In his new role, he plans to bring a stronger regional identity to the hotel’s culinary offerings through expanded partnerships with local farmers and vendors, new wedding and event menus, and the rollout of Le Petit Chef. He is also passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of culinary leaders.

Together, Gilroy, Kucera, Murphy, and Zakhary bring a breadth of experience and fresh perspective as the property continues to invest in its people, culinary program, commercial strategy, and overall guest experience.
