Ajmer, India, Feb 05: The Association of International Schools of India (TAISI) organized the TAISI Sports Championship 2026, celebrating 17 years of promoting sporting excellence in schools across India. Recently concluded at Mayo College in Ajmer, the event brought together over 2400 student-athletes from 36 International Board Schools across the country, showcasing remarkable talent and sportsmanship.
The 2026 edition of the championship marked another milestone in TAISI’s mission to create a collaborative, competitive, and educational platform for student-athletes. With 12 sporting disciplines, including football, basketball, cricket, athletics, swimming, and archery, this year’s championship offered a dynamic and inclusive arena for students to demonstrate their abilities across team and individual sports.
Syed Sultan Ahmed, Chairman, The Association of International Schools of India (TAISI) to the event, commented on the significance of the championship: “The TAISI Sports Championship has grown into an institution in itself, bringing together students from diverse educational backgrounds to collaborate, compete, and learn the values of teamwork, resilience, and leadership. This year’s success is a reflection of the commitment of the schools, students, and educators who work together to create an environment that nurtures not just athletic excellence but also the holistic development of students.”
The event featured participation from renowned schools such as Pathways World School, Shiv Nadar School, Mayo College Girls School, Shrewsbury International School, and Heritage Xperiential School. The championship’s focus extended beyond competitive spirit; it emphasized the importance of character building, leadership development, and teamwork.
With 100+ professional officials and referees ensuring the highest standards of competition, the event demonstrated the importance of safe and fair play. For many, the championship was more than just about winning – it was an opportunity to grow, develop, and showcase skills that extend beyond the classroom.
