CSR Leaders to explore New Ways of funding Social Causes

EQUIPPP to host dialogue with Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, Architect of India’s CSR Framework

Hyderabad, July 29: As Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India enters a more mature and impact-driven phase, Equippp Social Impact Technologies Limited (EQUIPPP) is organizing a thought-provoking dialogue titled “CSR Meets the Social Stock Exchange: A Journey Ahead” on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 5:30 PM at Hall B, 5th Floor, Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City, Hyderabad.

The highlight of the evening will be an interaction with Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, IAS (Retd.), widely acknowledged as one of the principal architects of India’s CSR framework. A former Director General and CEO of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Dr. Chatterjee played a pioneering role in conceptualizing and shaping the CSR provisions incorporated into the Companies Act, 2013, making India the first country in the world to mandate CSR spending by eligible companies.

The session will explore the evolving landscape of CSR in India, the growing role of philanthropy, and the emergence of the Social Stock Exchange (SSE) as a transformative platform for mobilizing capital towards measurable social impact. Participants will gain valuable insights into how businesses, non-profits, philanthropists, and investors can collaborate to create sustainable social change.

EQUIPPP is a Hyderabad-headquartered, publicly listed technology and social impact company that develops digital platforms and advisory solutions to facilitate collaboration among governments, corporates, NGOs, philanthropists, investors, and social enterprises.

A special Spotlight Session will feature Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli, Founder of Grace Cancer Foundation, who will share the Foundation’s inspiring journey towards listing on the Social Stock Exchange.

The presentation will provide a practical perspective on the opportunities, processes, and challenges involved in accessing impact capital through the SSE.

India’s CSR ecosystem has grown significantly since the CSR mandate came into force. Eligible companies collectively spend over ₹30,000 crore annually on CSR initiatives, making India one of the world’s largest organized corporate social investment ecosystems. Simultaneously, the Social Stock Exchange, introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), is opening new avenues for credible non-profit organizations and social enterprises to access transparent and accountable funding.

The event is expected to bring together CSR leaders, corporate foundations, non-profit organizations, social enterprises, philanthropists, policymakers, academicians, impact investors, development professionals, and sustainability practitioners to deliberate on the future of social finance and collaborative impact creation.

The organizers have invited all stakeholders interested in strengthening India’s social impact ecosystem to participate in this important dialogue.
