Depot48 Launches ‘Night Shift’, a New Saturday Rooftop Experience for Slower, Queer-Led Evenings
Feb 13th: Depot48, known for its culture-first, queerled approach to hospitality and live experiences in the city, introduces Night Shift, a new Saturday night rooftop experience designed for evenings that unfold slowly. Launching on Valentine’s Day, February 14, Night Shift opens Depot48’s newly redesigned rooftop with a format centred on shared food, well-made cocktails, familiar music, and the community that has shaped the space over the years.

Envisioned as a grown-up alternative to high-energy nightlife, Night Shift shifts the focus from constant movement to staying put. The rooftop has been reworked with smaller, intimate tables and long benches that encourage guests to sit close, order together, and spend time. The mood is social, relaxed, and unforced, designed for conversation rather than spectacle.

The food offering is comfort-forward and built for sharing, featuring small plates that travel easily across the table and work well late into the night. From momos and pizzas to palak patta chaat and other familiar favourites, the menu supports long evenings shaped around eating together rather than structured dining.

Complementing the food is a Saturday-only cocktail menu, available exclusively on the rooftop during Night Shift. The drinks are balanced and unfussy, designed to move comfortably through the evening — easy to reorder and meant to linger over.

Music for the night is curated by DJ Kabir, a familiar presence at Depot48. His set is recognisable, rhythmic, and tuned specifically for the rooftop, music people can live with, talk over, debate, and return to as the night settles in.

Night Shift is a queer night not as a theme, but as an audience. There is no performance programming or spectacle at its centre. Instead, the space is built for people who come to eat, drink, talk, flirt, argue about songs, and stay longer than planned. It is social, intimate, and intentionally low-pressure.

While Depot48’s long-running Pink Thursday continues as a high-energy weekly ritual, Night Shift offers a distinct Saturday proposition — more settled, more food- and cocktail-led, and designed for evenings that prioritise connection over chaos.

Speaking about the launch, Vikas Narula, Co-founder, Depot48, said,Night Shift is about slowing the night down and giving people permission to settle in. We’ve spent years building high-energy community nights, but we also saw a need for something quieter and more grounded where people can share food, order another drink, and actually stay with the people they came with. This is a space designed for presence, not performance, and for conversations that stretch longer than planned.”

Adding to this, Girjashanker Vohra, Co-founder, Depot48, shared,Depot48 has always been shaped by its queer community, and Night Shift is a natural extension of that reality. It’s not a themed night or a spectacle, it’s a room built for the people who have made Depot what it is over the years. We wanted to create an environment that feels lived-in, comfortable, and human where connection is the main event and the night unfolds at its own pace.”

Running every Saturday night on the rooftop, Night Shift marks a new chapter in Depot48’s evolving hospitality offering one that values intimacy, familiarity, and evenings that linger.
