Mumbai, Feb 12: During International Childhood Cancer Day (15 February) and on World Cancer Day, Access Life redesigned its care centres in India into spaces of hope, joy and awareness by turning them into a bright space among children receiving cancer treatment and their families.
Access Life centres were carefully adorned with inspirational messages, artistic installations and interactive items to encourage children throughout treatment and enhance emotional stability. The project was also a way to bring awareness to the visitors and volunteers to understand the reality of childhood cancer and the need of care beyond the medical care.
On World Cancer Day, centres across locations came together to celebrate young cancer warriors through music, dance, art and craft sessions, storytelling and games creating moments of joy, connection and normalcy during an otherwise demanding treatment journey.
Ankeet Dave, Founder and Director, Access Life said – “Cancer treatment is not just about medicine, it is also about hope, dignity and emotional strength. At Access Life, we work to ensure that children and families feel supported every single day. These shared moments of joy and togetherness remind them that they are not alone in this journey.”
As part of its International Childhood Cancer Day outreach, Access Life has also launched ‘Dishoom to Cancer’, a digital awareness campaign inviting people to make a fist, say “Dishoom to Cancer,” record a short video and tag @accesslifeindia using #DishoomToCancer, amplifying collective support for children battling cancer.
