ASGKCON 2026 organised by KIMSHEALTH Begins in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 07: ASGKCON 2026, the two-day 17th Annual Conference of the Association of Surgical Gastroenterologists and GI Oncosurgeons of Kerala, organised by KIMSHEALTH, commenced at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Thiruvananthapuram. The conference brings together leading experts in surgical gastroenterology and GI onco-surgery, with the aim to serve as a platform to share knowledge, exchange expertise, and discuss recent advances in clinical practice in the field of surgical gastroenterology and GI Oncosurgery.

Dr. M I Sahadulla, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMSHEALTH inaugurated ASGKCON 2026. In his inaugural address, Dr. Sahadulla said that advances in surgical gastroenterology and GI Onco-surgery are driven by research, innovation and shared clinical experiences.

Renowned international faculty participating in the conference include Prof. Andrew Butler, Consultant, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and Liver Transplant Surgeon, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, and Prof. Asif Jah, Consultant, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB), and Liver Transplant Surgeon, Cambridge University Hospitals. The national faculty features, Dr. Sudeep R. Shah, Consultant Gastrointestinal Surgeon, P D Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Mumbai, Dr. Kalayarasan R., Professor, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, JIPMER, Puducherry, and Dr. Bramhadatta Pattnaik, Associate Professor, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. Over 60 regional faculty members are also presenting papers in the conference. 

ASGKCON 2026 will feature scientific sessions, panel discussions, and interactive forums for enhancing learning and fostering collaboration among the doctors. Around 200 delegates from across the state and country are participating in the conference.

Dr. Shiraz Ahmad Rather, Consultant & Head of Multivisceral Transplant, Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic & Liver Transplant Surgery, KIMSHEALTH welcomed the gathering.
