Delhi, Feb 03: Swiggy India’s pioneering on-demand convenience platform, recently concluded a high impact month of action for National Road Safety Month, reinforcing its commitment towards the Delivering Safely charter. During the National Road Safety Month Swiggy intensified its focus on high-density urban corridors, Swiggy conducted 10+ specialized traffic awareness programmes across Pallakad, Shimoga, Kochi, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Chennai, training delivery partners in these cities, in partnership with city Road Traffic Departments. A standout feature of these Delivering Safely sessions was the inclusion of CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) training. By equipping delivery partners with these critical emergency-response skills, Swiggy is transforming its fleet into a network of “First Responders” capable of providing timely medical intervention during emergencies on the road.
Additionally, in a strategic move to blend technology with safety, Swiggy Instamart announced its partnership with VecRep in January to launch a comprehensive safety program for its delivery partners. This initiative features ResQTag, a QR and NFC-enabled emergency tool that allows partners to trigger instant, privacy-protected alerts to emergency contacts during accidents or breakdowns. Complementing this technology, the partnership provides free preventive vehicular inspections and priority servicing through VecRep’s garage network, ensuring both on-road preparedness and minimized vehicle downtime.
These new initiatives complement Swiggy’s existing, robust safety protocols, including the in-app SOS button—a 24/7 lifeline that connects partners to a dedicated helpline, local police, and ambulance services at the tap of a screen.
For Swiggy, the safety and well-being of its delivery partners and the wider community remain of primary importance. Over the past 4 years, Swiggy has been organizing road safety and traffic awareness training sessions for its delivery partners, in collaboration with the Traffic Police Departments across various cities. In 2025, Swiggy organized multiple Road Safety Awareness sessions across all major cities including Mumbai, Patna, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Velachery and Agartala, reaching thousands of delivery partners.
Alongside these initiatives, every delivery partner is covered under road insurance, undergoes mandatory safety training at the time of onboarding, and is regularly engaged through sensitization drives. These efforts reflect Swiggy’s commitment to creating a safer ecosystem for both its delivery fleet and the communities they serve.
