India’s National Barista Champion, Suhas Dwarkanath, is set to represent the country at the prestigious World Barista Championship (WBC) in Milan on October 17, 2025 — a lifelong dream for the Bangalore-based coffee expert.
In support of his journey, The Kind Roastery & Brew Room has partnered with Suhas in a collaboration that reflects the brand’s core philosophy of compassion, craft, and community. Founder Pallavii Gupta described the partnership as “a story of Bangalore to the world stage,” underscoring the shared commitment to elevating Indian coffee on a global platform.
The WBC is regarded as the Olympics of the coffee world. While several Indian baristas have competed over the years, a victory remains elusive. Suhas’s participation marks a historic moment and brings renewed focus on India’s growing specialty coffee culture. This initiative is also an opportunity to create greater awareness and appreciation for the art of coffee-making in the country.
As part of the collaboration, Suhas has curated two limited-edition beverages that will be available at all three The Kind outlets in JP Nagar, Indiranagar, and Bellandur. The Corn Coco Iced Latte blends corn milk, coconut foam, and The Kind’s signature espresso, while the Strawberry and Rose Buttered Iced Latte features strawberry compote, buttered rose foam, and espresso. These unique drinks will be available for a limited time, offering coffee enthusiasts a taste of Suhas’s award-winning creations.
To further support Suhas’s WBC journey, The Kind will host a final fundraising event the Coffee Party on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM at its JP Nagar location. The event will feature a coffee tasting, a meet-and-greet with Suhas, and live music by DJ Santana. All proceeds will go towards the crowdfunding campaign, which closes on October 10.
This partnership between The Kind and Suhas Dwarkanath represents more than just a collaboration it’s a shared dream to put India firmly on the global coffee map.
